One of the biggest things I deal with when looking at my stash of supplies is knowing that I spent money on this stuff and it’s doing nothing but take up space. This is complicated by knowing that even if I do use it, the finished item could still end up just taking up space.
So, to tackle one portion of my stash that frustrates me to no end, I’ve decided to make sure that this particular type of yarn is going to use. I am going to take my worsted weight acrylic yarn, some of which I have had for over a decade now, and make throw blankets. These are not something I will likely put up for sale, since they will be all over the place in patterning and color scheme, but they are something that will get use in my house.
Y’see, I don’t tolerate heat well. I don’t tolerate it much at all. So having blankets available for the other people in my household to use when I’m seemingly attempting to freeze them all out of the house, while keeping in mind that we do have pets so everything needs to be washable, seems like a good plan.
The picture at the top of this post is the first of these sorts of blankets. I started it on June 30th, and that pile of crochet is what it looks like after a couple days of work. I’m doing granny stripes, and made it possibly unnecessarily wide, so it’s going to use a large portion of the acrylic stash.
One thing I really need to do this month is get into the leather stash and my chainmaille supplies. I have had a lot going on outside of my artsy stuff and have barely even acknowledged my pliers exist for two months now. I have events this fall, I need to get it together! Hopefully that happens by the end of this week…
